Agritourism farm and nursery in High Point, NC, All-A-Flutter Farms is a family-run business. They advocate for the education, conservation, and restoration of monarch butterfly habitats, as well as for all important pollinators.
The farm was established on the premise that excessive commercialism and industrialization of the world have resulted in the senseless destruction of the natural habitats of many animals and insects around the world. As a result, their purpose and desire was to give something back to the world while also making a difference in people’s lives.
Every year, the farm raises thousands of Monarch butterflies, which are then sold to companies and people for a variety of special occasions. When these are released at weddings, the results are breathtaking and will be remembered for a long time by attendees. Funerals are held in which the upward spiral of the gorgeous Monarch signifies the soul’s ascent to the sky after its time on earth. Graduation ceremonies mark the beginning of adulthood, whereas grand opening ceremonies mark the beginning of a new era. Every memorable event calls for a butterfly!
So, whatever the occasion for which a group of our butterflies is released, not only does the release make the celebration memorable, but it also makes them valuable contributors to the conservation efforts for our beloved Monarch companions, who are endangered.
All-A-Flutter Farms is also a firm believer in educating children about the condition of the butterfly, which they do through a variety of activities. If they can reach these children and instill in them a sense of the necessity of protecting natural habitats and preserving nature, the Monarch butterfly will no longer be on the endangered species list in the near future. And one day, our grandkids, and their grandchildren, will be able to experience the thrill of chasing a beautiful butterfly over a beautiful meadow.
They encourage school groups, day care centers, camps, and other organizations to come to the farm and see for themselves. Arrangements can be made for guided tours of the facilities, as well as an age-appropriate lecture for pupils, which will include demonstrations at every step of growth, from the caterpillar stage to the emergence of a vividly colored adult butterfly. Visitors can even feed the butterflies by hand if they like!
