The Immaculate Heart of Mary, located in High Point, North Carolina area, is a devotional name used by Roman Catholics to refer to the Catholic view of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and her interior existence, which is known as the Immaculate Conception. The book is mostly about her pleasures and sufferings, her virtues and hidden perfections, and, most importantly, her virginal love for God the Father. In addition, she expresses maternal affection for her son Jesus Christ, as well as a motherly and caring affection for the entire human race.
Traditionally, the Immaculate heart is represented as being wounded with seven wounds or swords, in honor to the seven dolors of Mary, and with roses, generally red or white, wrapped around the heart in a circle around the heart.

Following the appearance of the Miraculous Medal to Catherine Labouré in 1830, the devotion to Mary’s Heart has experienced a resurgence in popularity. On the Miraculous Medal, the Immaculate Heart is represented as though it has been stabbed by a sword. The Sacred Heart of Jesus, which is crowned with thorns, is also depicted on the medal, beside the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The letter M on the medal represents the Blessed Virgin Mary at the foot of the Cross during the time of Jesus’ crucifixion.
