The High Point Rockers are an American professional baseball team headquartered in High Point, North Carolina, which is a part of the Piedmont Triad region. They play their home games at Truist Point ballpark. They are members of the South Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, which is a minor league affiliate of Major League Baseball and a partner league of Major League Baseball.

Bridgeport, Connecticut, voted to discontinue professional baseball in the city just before the season’s conclusion, and plans to turn The Ballpark at Harbor Yard into a concert amphitheater were announced shortly thereafter.

The Bridgeport Bluefish announced on August 7, 2017, that the 2017 season will be the team’s final season in Bridgeport after competing in the city for the previous 20 seasons. On September 8, 2017, Frank Boulton, the league’s creator and a team owner, announced that the Bluefish would relocate to High Point, North Carolina, effective immediately.

Instead, on March 12, 2018, the league overwhelmingly approved the establishment of a new club in High Point to replace the Bluefish, who will begin play in 2019.

On April 11, 2018, the ground was formally broken for the new baseball stadium in High Point, which will be known as BB&T Point (now Truist Point).

An online contest to name the team was opened on June 7, 2018, and there were nine finalists: Chairmen, Dragon Claws, Hush Puppies, Iron Dragons, Iron Eagles, Pioneers, Rockers, and Splinters, to name a few. It was decided on June 21, 2018, that the names Dragon Claws, Rockers, and Splinters would be the final three contenders. The name “Rockers” was picked for the team on July 12, 2018 by the players.

High Point Rockers manager Jamie Keefe and pitching coach Frank Viola were announced as the team’s first managers and pitching coaches, respectively, on November 28, 2018.

On April 1, 2019, the team unveiled its mascot, a rocking horse, and requested members of the public to submit proposals for naming him.

On May 2, 2019, the Rockers defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters in their first ever home game, claiming the victory.

The High Point Rockers now have 39 players on their rosters who are all actively competing. Those players include 19 pitchers, 2 catchers, 7 infielders, 8 outfielders, manager Jamie Keefe, coaches Albert Gonzalez and Frank Viola, and manager Jamie Keefe.
