A park known as High Point City Lake Park may be found in Jamestown. There are several activities available for locals and guests of all ages to participate in. There are numerous programs offered throughout the month, gyms, over ten picnic shelters, a marina with boating and fishing, a carousel, a train, and, of course, a beautiful playground.
Boating and fishing (permits necessary), having a picnic, playing on the playground, and going on amusement rides are all available at High Point City Lake Park, which is open every day of the week. This park contains ten picnic shelters with a capacity ranging from 100 to 600 people, with the largest accommodating up to 600 people.
The rides in High Point City Lake Park are the park’s main attractions. At the park, you can enjoy a fantastic water slide as well as a merry-go-round and train ride. There are also boat rides for up to 30 people and a miniature golf course. There are also canoes and pedal boats available, as well as an indoor gymnasium, a large handicap accessible pool, and a marina.
Picnic shelters with seating capacities ranging from 40 to 600 persons are available for rent. Shelter rates vary depending on the size of the shelter and the length of time it is rented. It is strongly advised that you make reservations.
In addition, there are free-standing picnic tables and grills positioned in the main portion of the park that are offered on a first-come, first-served basis to park visitors. In addition to a merry-go-round, a train ride, a 30 passenger excursion boat trip, miniature golf, canoes and pedal boats, a marina ramp, and a gymnasium, the park offers other family-friendly attractions.
Construction on phase one of the High Point City Lake Park Master Plan began on June 1, 2021, and is expected to be completed by 2025. A bond referendum was held in November 2019 and the residents of the United States voted to support this project.
A number of projects are included in the first phase. First and foremost, there is the exciting makeover of the pool area, which will include the addition of a lazy river, play areas, and a new slide to replace the old mechanical systems. In addition, the locker rooms and refreshments area are being renovated.
The second project, which will increase accessibility by increasing the number of accessible parking spaces, extending pathways, and renovating the entrance to the pool, is already underway.
The third project involves the conversion of the old gymnasium into a conference center and offices, while the final one involves the realignment of the Great Lawn and performance space. It is anticipated that the improvements will be completed by the summer of 2022.
